Born in the San Bernadino mountains, I spent my early childhood playing in the forest surrounding my Grandparent’s house with the squirls and blue jays as playmates. There is where I started drawing in a little spiral notebook. Mom moved to Utah and at the age of 12 I started spending summer and winter breaks with my father who was a bush pilot in Alaska. My family always encouraged my art.  Dad set me up with watercolors and I started painting scenes of our sled dogs with the sunset. I discovered printmaking and Mom set me up with my own silk screens for printing posters and t-shirts that I started my first business with. I went on to working with master printmakers at USU and digital art for a software company before moving back to AK. In Anchorage, I met my husband and raised 2 boys. I became a framer, eventually owning my own shop and gallery. I currently work out of my studio; 4 Bears Press along with helping other artists print their work. I still have the squirls and blue jays chatting me up along with moose and an occasional bear.

My work is both whimsical and magical with a hint of darkness. Through out my life I have always been drawn to the ocean, forests and wilderness around me feeling my connection with the places and time. I aim to catch those moments and share that spark or show a fellow being’s personality I’ve met. I want to Inspire others to observe their world so they might experience the same or just remind them of when they did.
